African Ginger/Wild Ginger - Siphonochilus aethiopicus.

Wild Ginger has a variety of medicinal and traditional uses to the native South African people.

Wild ginger is traditionally used to treat:

Butterfly Pea Flowers – Clitoria ternatea

A traditional Ayurvedic medicine, used as a memory enhancer, anti-stress, anxiolytic (inhibits anxiety) anticonvulsant, antidepressant, nootropic herb. It may be helpful to improve cognitive function, momory and creativity.

The flower is a natural food colorant that will add colour to various foods such as rice. The most distinctive characteristic of the flower is that, when added to any herbal tea or drink (cocktails), it will change the colour when the pH balances changes. A deep blue tea will turn purple with the addition of lemon juice, and turning a deeper shade of purple the more lemon juice is added. Butterfly Pea tea can be frozen in ice cubes and included in cocktails or punch bowls where it will causes the drink to change colour as the ice cube dissolves leading to what has been labelled as a ‘mood ring cocktail’. Cayenne - Capsicum annuum

Stimulates the circulatory and digestive system and increases perspiration.

Celery seed - Apium graveolens

Celery seeds are tasty, nutritious and low in calories.

They are a great source of essential minerals like calcium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus and iron.

Celery seeds can be used to support bone health.

  • One tablespoon of seeds can provide 12% of the RDI for calcium

Uva Ursi / Bearberry – Arctostaphylos uva-ursi

An astringent, anti-bacterial herb that is a urinary antiseptic.

It may be used for urinary infections like cystitis, and vaginitis. Can be combined with Zea mays.

Whites Ginger/Mulondo - Mondia whitei

Works on the male reproductive system. Enhances sexual performance. Cures erectile dysfunction in men. Increases testosterone production and human sperm function. Similar to Sildenafil (Viagra).

Internally Witch Hazel is commonly used for :

Witch hazel is an astringent, and has anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties.

Witch hazel contains antioxidants and compounds like gallic acid and tannins that helps prevent widespread inflammation

Used externally it can help reduce skin irritation and inflamed or broken skin

Which hazel as a toner acts as an astringent, causing the tissue to contract to help shrink pores while soothing the skin and relieving inflammation which will be helpful in the treatment of acne. This may prevent acne-causing bacteria from infecting the skin.

Warning:Do not use when pregnant or breastfeeding.


Wormwood - Artemisia absinthium
