- African Bonsai is a charming succulent native to South Africa.

- African Bonsai is hardy to -3 °C.
- With its spiny appearance, it looks like a cactus – but technically it is a succulent with green leaves that are tipped with a circle or crown of stiff white hairs on the end of the leaves.
- It grows up to 10cm tall and produces abundant small daisy-like purplish-pink flowers that open in the sun during the day.
- Water moderately.
- Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings.
- Reduce watering significantly during its dormancy and winter rest period.
- It will do well in containers and in the rock garden.
